Cenacle of The Divine Mercy
Are you in need of a “heart” transplant? Not a physical heart transplant, but a spiritual one. If so, you might be interested in this adult faith formation process.
The message of mercy calls us to a conversion of the heart. In Ezekiel 36:26, it is written,
“I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you, taking from your bodies your stony hearts and giving you natural hearts.” (New American Bible)
When the subject of the Divine Mercy comes up, you probably think of the devotional aspects of the Divine Mercy message – the Divine Mercy Chaplet or the Feast of Divine Mercy. These devotions are important, but the Divine Mercy is more than a devotion … more than the chaplet or the feast. The Divine Mercy study group will help participants to learn more about integrating the Divine Mercy message into their daily lives. It will help them to take the needed steps in a conversion process that will bring them to a closer relationship with Jesus, The Divine Mercy, and Mary, His Merciful Mother. It will introduce participants to the Divine Mercy message as a way of life … a lifestyle. It will enable them to develop a deeper trust in God, a greater ability to forgive those who have hurt them. The program offers participants a guided study to explore the message of Divine Mercy -- trust, forgiveness and mercy – and understand that the message is to be lived.
The study materials have received a Nihil Obstat. Through this study, participants will learn more about their faith and share their faith experiences. They will read the writings in the Diary of St. Faustina in addition to related references found in Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. An important feature of the study is to recognize and proclaim the truth of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist. As a devotional element in the study, the Divine Mercy Chaplet is recited at each study group session. The Cenacle meets in a home environment near the parish.
