San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church

Welcome to San Juan del Rio Catholic Church.  We are happy to have you join us.  We are a faith filled community growing together and spreading the gospel of Jesus through our FAITH FAMILY and FELLOWSHIP!

Holy Week & Easter

Palm Sunday Mass - Live-streaming at 11:00am April 4, 2020

Due to the Stay at Home orders now in effect for Florida, and our churches being closed throughout the Diocese of St. Augustine, all public masses and events are canceled for Holy Week.  Please check back regularly as we will post any celebrations planned to be viewed on our website and FB page in the coming days.  We miss you all and look so forward to a time when we can celebrate together again.

Please note the church will remain closed until further notice.  It was a difficult decision as we had greatly hoped to keep the church open during the day for prayer.  However, for the safety and well-being of our parishioners and maintenance staff, and the increased difficulty obtaining cleaning supplies, we feel it is best to keep the church closed until the COVID-19 pandemic has resolved.  Thank you for your understanding.

Letter from Fr John

My dear friends in Christ,

May you have many blessings today for yourselves and your families. I was just celebrating Mass, it was an unusual experience to be in our big, beautiful church, usually filled with so many families’ faces and yet I was alone. As priests we celebrate Mass everyday for the needs of our congregations. I was physically alone in the Mass but I could feel the presence of all of you in the church with me, it gave me so much consolation. Always remember that in these unusual times that we are all together as a parish family; we have already established through the Eucharist that binds us that we are never alone because we all walk with Christ. I was meditating on Christ in the desert for His forty days tempted by the devil, He was alone but He was tended to by the Angels who never left His side, and His father who walked with Him.

As we move forward through these days of lent that we are being tended to by the Angels, and that God is watching over us. I look forward, indeed, I can’t wait, for the day of celebration when we will once again fill our church with our families and friends. Know that every time I offer my Mass, the prayers are said in your intentions.

God bless you,

Fr. John

Resources for Parishioners:

Also, we would like to remind our parishioners that these are difficult times for our parishes throughout the country.  If you are in a financial position to continue to donate money to the San Juan del Rio Parish, we encourage you to transition to online giving.  With public masses canceled around the diocese, the local churches need your support.  If you would like to sign up for Parish Giving online, you can do so at https://www.parishgiving.org/Main.aspx.  If you prefer to continue to use the envelopes, you can mail those in to the church office.

Below is a collection of resources we have pulled together to help our faithful in this time. We will continue to add and share resources as they become available! ✝️
